Role of Family

Central to Hospice of Holland’s mission is preserving quality of life. Central to quality of life is family. The Hospice definition of family includes all those in loving relationships with the patient regardless of blood or legal ties. Through Hospice, these important people are directly involved in caring for patients.

Since it’s beginning, Hospice of Holland has been dedicated to patient comfort. To many, this continues to mean Hospice care is given to patients in their own homes. However, care can also be given in area care facilities or in the Hospice House.

Loved ones will be embraced as both participants in care for the patient and as individuals who need care and support. Whether we are easing physical pain or emotional heartache, Hospice is here to help everyone affected by end-of-life issues.

Patients and caregivers are encouraged to participate as decision makers and as key members of the Hospice Team. The familiarity, support and love of special people is very important to our patients.
