“Love Is..”Our beautiful, photography exhibit it on display at Freedom Village from April 11-21. It will be featured at Herrick Library, the Colonial Clock Building, Evergreen Commons, Fifth Third Bank and Ridge Point Community Church in the upcoming months. 15th Annual National Teleconference: Wednesday, April 16th Hospice of Holland will be offering the 15th Annual Hospice Foundation of America Live Satellite Teleconference, “Living with Grief: Children and Adolescents.” This program will be broadcast Wednesday, April 16th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Evergreen Commons. HFA's 2008 Teleconference will focus on the experience of grieving children and adolescents and the ways that hospice professionals, teachers and school administrators, grief counselors, funeral directors, and parents can best support these populations as they cope with loss and grief. This teleconference is targeted to clinicians, clergy, social workers, counselors, and physicians. The public is welcome to attend. Admission is free. A Grief Observed/Writing about Love & Loss, Starting April 28You have stories to tell – about important people in your life, about yourself, about the journey of grief. Putting pen to paper can capture those stories – the ones you can’t forget, the ones you want others to remember. No writing experience needed. No writing homework. Just time, once a week to explore how our lives have been touched by those we have loved and lost. Come write with us, mourning and celebrating the stories and truths that sustain us. Classes start Monday, April 28th, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm and will run 6 weeks, through June 9 (skipping May 26). Contact Kathy Miedema at 396.2972 to join us! Heart to Heart Celebration: Friday, May 16th This year, our biggest fundraiser of the year will be held at the Colonial Clock Building in Zeeland, MI., on May 16, 2008. For more information on this auction-style event, which features out-of-this-world cuisine from local culinary geniuses, contact Beth Erlandson at berlandson@hollandhospice.org. Memorial Service: Tuesday, May 20th Hospice of Holland's Memorial Service is for all Hospice families who have lost a loved one during the past year. Hospice staff and volunteers, as well as community members, help to make this a meaningful time of remembrance and celebration. This year's service will be held the evening of Tuesday, May 20th. Check back for more information, or contact Kathy Miedema at 396.2972. Tourney with a Heart: Friday, July 25th Save the date for our fantastic golf outing at Grand Haven Golf Club! This year's tournament is set for Friday, July 25, 2008. There will be both am and pm shotgun starts. Please consider sponsoring this event and/or playing! Contact Leslie Baker at lbaker@hollandhospice.org or 355.5521. Camp Hope: Monday – Thursday, August 5 – 8, 1:00 – 4:30 pm Hospice of Holland will once again offer Camp Hope in The Loft. This is an afternoon camp for grieving children. Music, writing, art and movement are used to help children explore and heal their grief. The camp meets from 1:00 – 4:30 pm each day.
